For some reason, whenever I need something dramatic to be happening in the background of a story I fall back on Romeo and Juliet. It's a tragic story for a lot of reasons: tragic accidents, tragic battles, and one tragic flaw in everyone's thinking. I contend that every character working to keep their forbidden courtship and marriage a secret was making a mistake; instead, they should have been shouting it from the rooftops. Neither family would have been happy of course, but eventually they should have seen it as a great opportunity when the city's rulers started leaning on them to accept it, which they would have done seeing as they were ready to start a war against them both if they didn't stop fighting all the time. The two families would have been united by the marriage, perhaps still a troubled unity but a start all the same. Romeo and Juliet had that chance at an open relationship, but instead they kept everything a secret. Romeo nearly told Mercutio the joyous news, which might have solved everything, but the latter was so set on killing everyone and his death forced Romeo into hiding. I like to think that afterward the two families, on seeing Romeo and Juliet dead together in the sepulcher, put aside their hatred and tried to find peace … but it was too late for those two.

This is part of my Risen Saga, a Pokémon story with blood and violence and occasionally even death. There may also be nudity, sexual themes, strong language and material that is almost certainly ideologically sensitive ... but I rarely put up the mature content filter because I don't want to restrict anyone from reading this story. If you feel strongly that I should for a specific piece, please say so, I would appreciate that! Oh, and if you go here fav.me/d7a7p8w you can check out a map I made of the Leogre Region, complete with routes and location information. Pokémon belongs to the Pokémon people and not to me; thank goodness, I'd probably do this to it.
